Throughout visual history, cinema has used the bar as a convenient backdrop for fictional lives. This work flips that dynamic: using photography to honor a living space that exists entirely independent of the camera. The patrons and workers are not actors; they are a community inhabiting their own sanctuary. If the camera steps away, the bar carries on uninterrupted.
